Wrong steering wheel?

Post by Adamp1916 »

2007 ford edge issue

Bought the SW and installed with a JVC KW-850BT. Followed the connection guide exactly. Flash was successful.

Connected the purple/red wire to the grey/yellow wire on the vehicle harness.

Connected the black/white wire to the blue/white wire on the vehicle harness.

Red connected to red on the radio, black connected to black on the radio, 3.5mm jack in the idatalink port on the radio and plugged in to the maestro.

Does not work. The first time I press one of the buttons, it flashes green but nothing happens.

This may be because the steering while on the app when you flash it is wrong for a 2007 ford edge.

Does the radio have a blue/yellow wire on the harness? With the SW, you won't connect to the idatalink input, but to the steering wheel connection (normally blue/yellow on the JVC).

Yes, and that is also connected to the harness.

In true IT Crowd fashion, the answer is the same as it would be if the question were, "is it plugged in?" ..

The harness simply wasn't securely pushed all the way in to the maestro. Everything works flawlessly now.

Disregard.
