My truck is a 2011 Sierra that had the factory touch screen with nav, bose, and onstar. I tried to install the Maestro RR, GM5, and a Pioneer AVH-600ex tonight. I’ve got three issues with the install.
1. The rear door speakers basically have no sound. With the radio’s fade set to the middle you have to basically stick your ear up to the speakers to hear them. I’m hooked up via the RCA’s on the GM5. If you fade to the rear nothing comes out of the rear speakers. The front speakers are nice and loud as long as you are not faded to the rear. No ground noise or anything like like the warnings in the manual. Just for kicks I hooked the rear rca’s to the front RCA outputs on the Pioneer thinking maybe something was up with the head unit and still didn’t have sound. The rear door speakers work fine with the factory head unit.
2. The factory backup camera does not work. When put in reverse it switches to the camera screen but all you get is a black screen with the reversed image warning. Again it works fine with the factory head unit. Even now with the factory headunit back in the truck so I can go to work tomorrow with my dash in one piece.
3. The trucks factory XM antenna is hooked to the back of the factory radio. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. Little blue connector right by the FM antenna. It’s not hooked to a external tuner behind the glove box in my truck like I saw all over the web that I know of. When I switch to XM it get the station ID, but you get faint static since the antenna is unhooked. What’s the solution at this point?

1st- use the level match circuits that we provide in the GM5+ kit versus the RCA's. @nd reset the Pioneer to factory default settings. The MRR does not process any of the audio signals, it goes directly from the radio into the amplifier.skewba98z28 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 11:44 pm1. The rear door speakers basically have no sound. Please verify that you have the camera RCA from the GM5+ plugged into the brown Camera input of the Pioneer.skewba98z28 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 11:44 pm2. The factory backup camera does not work. The blue FAKRA connector is for the GPS navigation system. the OEM SAT tuner is behind the glove box towards the passenger kick panel. Again, please verify that you have the audio cable from the MRR going into the Pioneers "AUX" input and that you are accessing the OEM SAT tuner in the Source menu.skewba98z28 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 12, 2018 11:44 pm3. 1.Okay I’ll try the speaker level wires tonight.
2. I know for sure the Backup camera RCA was plugged into the brown rca jack on the back of the radio. Can you hook that RCA up to let’s say a small house TV video input just to verify if it’s a radio issue or a wiring issue?
3. I’ll double check if I was going to the vehicle XM source. I remember though it coming up to channel 1 and the tuner ID showed up. The 3.5 mm cable is hooked up to the plug right next to the idata link port on the back of the radio that’s labeled AUX. So it maybe a source issue that I’m doing.

yes with the vehicle on and in reverse you should be able to send the video signal into any screen. You can also try feeding another video signal into the Camera input to see if that is the issue too.

Re: 2011 GMC Sierra Bose/NAV Pioneer GM5 Issues
Well all I did was unhook the RCA’s and hook up the speaker level wires. Like magic I got rear speakers, backup camera started working, and siruis has sound. That’s the only thing I changed. Crazy! Thanks for the help!
