RR and 2013 Wrangler Steering Wheel Controls Problem w/ Pioneer NEX

Post by justsomedude » Mon Sep 10, 2018 6:06 pm

I installed my Pioneer 2440NEX stereo this weekend with a Maestro RR and CH1 harness. Everything works great except for the steering wheel controls, which stop working after a minute or two of driving.

In the Pioneer back panel I have connected:

Aux in - from aftermarket dash stereo input
BT Mic in - from Pioneer mic
Sirius input - from Sirius receiver
Rear cam video - from backup camera
USB - from center console USB input
Main harness - from CH1
Data cable - from Maestro RR (H)
W/R in - from Maestro RR three-pin port (D)

Pioneer firmware: 08.06
Maestro firmware: ADS-RR(SR)-CHR01-DS

Here is my wiring setup... if three-pin connector doesn't go to W/R port, where do I plug it in since AUX is in use?

The W/R connection is not used in this application. Please remove the cable and try again.

Ok - I will try this tonight and report back. Thank you!

Also, can you please tell me what application the 3.5mm cable is for? I’m curious.

the 3.5mm SWI jack and the blue/yellow SWI wire are only used when installing a radio that is not iDatalink Maestro capable. We offer analog solutions for these radios to reduce the overhead a shop incurs when using other brands. Is it overkill on some, maybe, but atleast we know it works the way we say it is going to.

Thanks for the info!

And I just pulled the cable out of the W/R port, and the steering wheel controls now work perfectly. Thank you! :D
