Ford F150 install

Post by drgordon13 » Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:04 pm

Hey there new to the forum and was wanting to get my ducks in a row before I get rolling. I have done some research and think I know what I need but just wanted some conformation.
My goals with the final install are as follows:

1. Replace 4.2" my ford with a Pioneer AVH 4201NEX...this is the new version that includes the backup camera so obviously the install of the camera is a goal as well

2. Install the Maestro RR so I can retain steering wheel controls

3. Install the Kit F150 dashkit to finish out the look

4. Have the option of running monitors for the kids to watch dvds in the back seat

So I am planning on ordering the Kit F150 and the ADS-MRR Interface Module. Do I need the Maestro FO2 as well?
I do not plan on running satellite radio on the new radio.

I want to make sure I will have the A/C controls on the radio as well as the truck systems updates (tire pressure, etc).

I also want to totally turn the SYNC system off! I hate that thing! Plan to run all controls through Apple Car Play and bluetooth.

Thanks and I am sure I will have some follow up questions!

You didn't say what year your truck is. Is it a 2013-14 F150 with the 4.3" Screen?

If so, everything you listed is possible with the RR and K150.

So sorry...2013 Ford F150 XLT with 4.3" screen.

What exactly is the F02 for?

Do I need some sort of antenna adapter?

The FO2 is the wiring harness that ties the installation together. When you buy the K150, the harness is included, so you wouldn't need to purchase the FO2.

You do need to purchase an FM antenna adapter, as that doesn't come in our kit.

Great. I decided to go with the newer version the Pioneer AVH W-4400NEX. Should this be the same install as the Pioneer 4200? Seems like they are very similar in the hookups.

The wiring is identical between those two radios.
