2010 Jeep JKU - NO AUDIO

Post by hillz » Sun Aug 05, 2018 10:14 am

2010 Jeep JKU Sahara. Had an RER head unit. Replacing it with a Kenwood DNX694S. Using a Maestro RR with CH1 cable. Flashed the RR... soldered all connections (correctly I believe)... Unit fired right up... seems to see radio stations.... Nav works.... car systems showing (tire pressure, etc)... linked to phones Bluetooth... but absolutely no audio from speakers. What did I do wrong?

Re-flashed a couple times. Checked all connections. I am stumped.

Is the vehicle equipped with a factory amplifier?

If so:
-Did you connect all eight speaker wires?
-Did you verify that the blue/white wire from the CH1 is connected to the radio's blue/white wire?
-Did you check to ensure that the white and green speaker connection junctions on the CH1 harness are connected?

Yes all 8 speaker wires are connected. Only wires not connected were brown, pink, yellow/black and the blue/white wires. My understanding was that my Jeep JKU equipped with the RER system had no separate amp. I guess I was wrong about that? I will connect the blue/white and see if that makes the difference.

I wired as green to white and white to green... but will return to green/green and white/white.

That seems to have been the problem! I now have audio ! Haven't gone over everything yet but it seems it is working as it should now. Thank you for the help! REALLY appreciated!
