2012 Wrangler EVIC and fuel economy gauges...

Post by b17gsr » Sun Jul 29, 2018 7:32 am

So far enjoying the Pioneer AVH-2440NEX with Maestro RR in our Wrangler. However, I have two questions:

1. Any plans for more info to be passed to the EVIC? So far it looks like it’s limited to the source input name. I do get the random “Standby” if I display the gauges screen (and stays that way until I cycle the ignition key).

2. I’ve entered the size of the fuel tank and engine, however the indicated range is much lower than what’s shown in the cluster and the instant fuel range seems to be 25-50% higher than it should (considering the cluster average was in the 10.7l/100kms and decreasing, whereas the instant fuel economy was showing higher than 13l/100kms).

Thanks

Got the fuel level down to 7% (low fuel light was on and fuel gauge below 1/8), was able to pump 71l into the tank. Then I he percentage went up to 95%.

Is there a way to recalibrate it to 100% after fill up? Any other tricks to get the instant fuel economy closer to actual?

Thanks

We simply take the information the vehicle is sending on its data lines and report it. Digitally, there is a chance that the tank's sensor is only reporting as 95% full. It's the same story with the fuel economy; We calculate using MAF, throttle position, speed and distance, and if any one of the sensors is reporting something that isn't 100% accurate, that can cause the readings to skew.
