Kenwood HU - Kia Forte 2017 (Help!)

Post by hanskona » Sun Jul 22, 2018 11:52 am

Hi. I just had my head unit installed on my car by a 'professional', together with the Maestro RR. The HU is a Kenwood DNX995s. After installing, I noticed that the buttons mapping were all wrong. When pressing the 'mode' button, the next song played. When pressing the 'pick up' button, the call 'hung up' instead. And when pressing the 'next' button, the volumr went up lol.

So I thought it was my mistake. A wrong flash on my part. I took apart the dash to get to the Maestro, intending to reflash it. It was then that I saw that the 12v and ground wire were not connected by the installer.

Is this even possible? Should the Maestro be working in the first place? Even if it should... would the fact that the 12v and the ground wire not being connected cause the buttons mapping to be all over the place?

Thanks

Its the rr conector that has only 3 wires... red (power), yellow (accessory) and black ground. The red wire is not supposed to be connected.

So I've connected the wires. Re flashed the Maestro. 3 times. No difference at all. The buttons are still wrongly mapped. There is no lag. No somtimes working sometimes not. Its just that... pressing the seek button brings the volume up lol. The gauges work fine too. Help?

Works fine now. I had to reflash a 4th time for it to work.
