2013 Tahoe turn signal chime only works in car play mode

Post by danryan92468 » Tue Jul 17, 2018 11:01 pm

I installed the Pioneer Avic-6200nex with the Maestro RR and GM-5 adapters. The door chime works all the time as it is supposed to. However the turn signal chime only works consistently while car play is being used. Otherwise the turn signal chime temporarily works when the key is first turned on but only for 5 or 10 seconds and then stops. I assume it stops because the radio is automatically commencing some mode. Then when car play is started the turn signal chime starts working again. The problem is that when the car is being driven without an I-phone and car play then there is no turn signal chime.

are we using the SP1 speaker?
Can you check to see if turn signals work in AM/FM Source and BT Audio Source?

Great question! I just checked that out and it appears that the satellite radio source is causing the problem. The turn signal chime works with all other source inputs. We only use satellite radio.

Unfortunately that is one of the limitations of the maestro. Being that the sat radio is playing the audio through the maestro if we kept turn signals the audio would continue to cut out when every the turn signals were activated. We made the call that would cause more of an annoyance then no clicks seeing that GM will give you a reminder if they are left on and eventually mute the radio. So with that, here are your options
1-Continue with the current setup
2-Purchase the SXV300 and the HRN-ANT-SAT1. This bypasses the maestro from pass any of the sat radio audio and creates a dedicated source for it.
