2016 F150 Pioneer MVH2300 - RR - FTR1 bugs

Post by swatson » Fri Jun 29, 2018 3:18 pm

Installed the new idatalink FTR1 with Maestro RR and a Pioneer MVH-2300NEX. The backup camera works when phone is connected via blue tooth but will not manually or automatically when connected via usb cable. Also the remote control does not work until after I make or receive a phone call. I re-flashed RR without sync per idata tech Bill's recommendation. Steering wheel controls all work correctly. Wires are all soldered and heat shrink with liner, Crutchfield tech thinks it is wiring? Pioneer tech thinks it is RR module or the Pioneer head unit?
I work 60+ hours a week and find it difficult to work around idata / Pioneer / Crutchfields schedules. any help would be appreciated

It is highly recommended that if at all possible to call in to our tech support line. The behaviors that you are mentioning are extremely odd and by odd i mean i or any of my team have never seen or heard of any radio exhibiting those behaviors. Our hours are 8:30am to 8:30pm EST Monday through Friday.
If you are unable to call I'd start by 1st- triple checking all the connections being made to both the maestro and the pioneer radio to ensure that they are connected to the correct wire, connector, and/or port. 2nd- make sure that all soldered connections are 100% free of cold solder joints and spikes that can short to another wire or piece of metal in the dash.
