2016 Subaru WRX with Starlink and Harmon Kardon

Post by ChrisWormald » Tue May 29, 2018 9:02 am

Hi all, I Have a Australian delivered 2016 Subaru WRX with Starlink and Harmon Kardon premium sound. I noticed that the RR and SU2 will retain the Harmon Kardon amp, I'm a little worried that it will only retain the old style Harmon Kardon amp which has analogue hi/lo level in, where as the Harmon Kardon amp in my car seems to be digital with the main amplifier being in the trunk of the car, and doesn't seem to have any analogue inputs. can someone give me any info on how the RR gets sound into the amp? I understand the RR was developed for the US market but i'm happy to try it as long as I can atleast wire it into the amp, all help will be muchly appreciated

Because we are a North American company, we do not support vehicles outside of the US and Canada. If the Australian vehicle is different than the one we have in the US, we don't have a way to test it or fix any issues.

That said, it is pretty likely that the amplifier in the US version is the same as the Australian version. I believe the turn-on is digital, but the actual audio signal is still analog. You can try it at your own risk, if you're up for it.
