2013 F150 FO2 missing OBD2 connector

Post by bigchief » Sun May 27, 2018 7:37 pm

Hi all,
I just installed a Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX using the FO2 kit and Maestro RR, but my kit didn't come with an OBD2 connector, just 2 wires coming from the harness labeled OBD2, but they don't have anything on the end of them. I have a connector than I can use but need to know what pins I need to hook those 2 wires into.
Thanks,
Corey

With that radio, you actually don't need to connect the OBD2 plug; Because the 8000NEX doesn't support gauges or vehicle info, the data we would be pulling from the OBD isn't going to display anywhere.

If you choose to do so, you would hook the brown/red to pin 6, and the brown/yellow to pin 14 at the OBD2. The wires will be pinned on top of each other and twisted, so they should be pretty straightforward to identify.

Thanks for the quick response. I was thinking I had seen videos of the 8000 with the gauges showing in an F150, but maybe it was an 8200 I saw with that.

Pioneer did not start supporting gauges until the 8200NEX. The 8000 and 8100 do not support this feature.
