2011 Suburban, chimes/signals/parking sensors not working, tried everything

Post by vacneuf » Mon May 21, 2018 5:59 pm

I have a Maestro RR, with a Kenwood DDX9702S. Flashed it successfully to the correct year and serial # on the radio. XM & Onstar work and can be heard perfectly. I've tried every signal setting including adjusting volume and making sure they are set to "click in speaker" and not on chime if left on.

The weird thing is, if I have it all apart I can hear the module click when I adjust volume to turn on the sound, or turn the signals on and if I plug the 1/8" audio jack into a bluetooth speaker and crank up the volume I can hear them ever so faintly.

Any ideas on why this wouldn't be working? I'm totally stumped at this point.

are you using the external speaker that was included with the GM5+ harness? This is a required piece for the installation and proper functionality.

The installation guide I got when flashing the module says nothing about plugging the speaker in. It only lists to install that with install option 3 if I have an aftermarket amplifier, which I do not. Am I misunderstanding something?

I actually bought the entire setup used, and did not get the speaker with it, so I don't even have one.

The speaker is a required part, and it should be installed, or you won't hear chimes or turn signal clicks. We sell replacement parts, so you can purchase the speaker separately.

That's unfortunate, I was hoping it wasn't needed.

How much to purchase the speaker separately? I wish I would have figured this out sooner as you already had to ship me the serial and audio cables.

Thanks,
