DSR1 issues with 2016 F350

Post by ridinyoshi » Mon May 14, 2018 2:28 pm

About a week back I installed a DSR1 in a 2016 F350 with the 8 inch navigation system & Sony amplifier. Prior to install the firmware was updated via the Rockford updater, then flashed to the vehicle via Idata. The F02 harness was used. Everything went well with the install.
Today the truck is back with no sound. The volume knob and steering wheel controls do not change the volume on the radio. Also no amp turn on output. Removing the DSR1 and plugging the Sony back in fixes the problem with the volume. The Bluetooth control for the unit will not connect via the app, unless the unit is plugged in to USB on a PC. Planning on swapping the DSR1 out, but if there are any known fixes that would be better. Thanks

Does the light on the DSR1 blink when there is no audio? If so, what color? Have you tried doing a reset on the DSR1 by unplugging it and plugging it back in? Reconnecting the OEM amp shouldn't make a difference, as the DSR should be communicating with the truck to make the volume knob work.

When was the last time you flashed the DSR1? There have been firmware updates to both boards recently, including the bluetooth (BLE) software. If you're having connectivity issues and haven't updated the BLE firmware, that could be what's going on.
