Use OEM Handsfree Mic on Maestro RR

Post by red2002yzfr1 » Mon May 14, 2018 12:11 pm

I have installed the Maestro RR and want to know if it is possible to keep my 2016 Chrysler 200 Handsfree mic instead of using the mic that comes with the Kenwood DDX6704S.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to do that in this vehicle. The factory bluetooth system is built into the radio, so it isn't retained. Because of that, we don't have a way to get the signal from the OEM microphone to the radio. In this application, you must use the Kenwood mic.

I kinda figured.

I can only hope that Kenwood will have a firmware update to allow this function.
