2010 Ford Fusion w/Navigation backup camera?

Post by sgibbers17 » Wed May 02, 2018 9:50 pm

I just installed a kenwood ddx9705s with the FO1 harness and everything seems to work correctly but the backup camera. I noticed that the back of the factory radio there is 4 connectors but the harness only has 3. I only hooked up the 3 that fit and the 4th had no place to be plugged into. I assume that this plug contains that wires for the back up camera. I also figured out that this connector also feeds into the factory screen some how because when I don't plug it into the factory radio and start the car I get no display on the factory screen.

Is there a wiring diagram for the connector and/or for the backup camera so I can get that functionality back on the kenwood radio?

Hello,
so that last connector not used, is it a 12 way connector? I show that on that 12 way connector pin 3 should be a White/Green stripe wire and pin 9 should be a Brown/Violet stripe wire.
White/Green wire is your camera video + wire
Brown/Violet is your camera video - wire

you just need a video cable to splice into those wires and you should be all set with retaining your backup camera.

hope that helps!

thanks that helps out a lot. Do you happen to have a wiring diagram for that connector and the other three? I would like to know what else is on that harness and what else I loose form not having that connector hooked up.

Also do I have to power the camera or is it always powered? I would also need to know those wires also.

We don't have any additional wiring diagrams. You don't need to power camera- the vehicle does that for you.

I just took apart my dash yesterday and got the camera working but the quality is significantly worse than the factory display. Is there a way to increase the quality of the picture back to where it was before I put the after market radio in.

We don't offer anything that will make the picture any better, as it is usually due to the factory camera resolution being lower than what an aftermarket camera is.
