2012 Ford Focus – ability to retain factory clock on 4” screen?

2012 Ford Focus SE – No Sync
Pioneer 4200 NEX
Maetro RR
F02 harness

First off, I'd like to say thank you to the people who made these products. I installed it about 3 weeks ago and it's been working great. The ability to read gauges and tire pressure alone makes it worth it.

My concern is so trivial that I'm a little embarrassed to ask. In order to retain steering wheel controls, the connector that used to go to the 4” screen, which showed the time, now has to go to the Maestro harness. The problem is that with sunglasses on, it's hard to read the time on the Pioneer deck. It was much easier to read the time on the factory 4” screen. Is there an adapter that will allow you to plug into both the Meastro and the 4” screen? Or can I splice to go to the 4” inch screen? As I'm writing this, I'm thinking it's as simple as having a constant 12v and a ground going to the 4” screen, but I'm not sure which wires going into the screen are 12v and ground. Has anyone done this?

We recommend against doing this. In our solution, we don't have an adapter because we don't intend for you to keep your 4.3" screen. If you do, there is potential for weird error messages to show on that screen.

I know of others that have kept it in the past and just lived with the error messages that pop up on the screen; they just hardwired the wires that connected to the maestro, and plugged the OEM connector back into the screen.

Ah, ok. I might try it and see what happens. Thanks for the reply.
