Maestro RR F connector pinouts?

Post by DarcyAudi » Sat Apr 21, 2018 9:45 pm

The VW1 wiring harness came with a VW Quadlock/RNS310 format connector, as far as I can tell. There was some confusion about which VW(1) harness, I think, and I am not sure where the confusion was...

No big issue; I spent the afternoon rewiring it to the Audi Symphony II connector format for an Audi A4.

I missed a step in planning this however, as I'm almost done now but have no idea why there is both a White/Blue and a Blue/White wire coming from the Maetro RR F (green) connector. One is Amp On, I'm sure, but what is the other?

It's a turn on for analog amplifiers, and it's needed for some media systems too.

Just to be clear: the White/Blue and the Blue/White wires are both 'AMP ON' signals?

No. Just the blue/white. The white/blue doesn't have a loose end for you to connect anything to it, so you don't need to wire it up to anything.

For anyone who stumbles across this thread and has a similar vehicle, a little clarification:

This solution is compatible with the Symphony 2+ system, but not the Symphony 2 (the plugs and the can messages are different). If you remove your radio and find that the VW1 does not fit into the OEM radio connector, that vehicle trim is not compatible with our solution.
