2005 Audi A4 steering wheel question

Post by DarcyAudi » Sun Apr 15, 2018 1:29 pm

Two SWI questions: roller buttons, and Mode

Rollers:

When configuring the firmware for a Maestro RR on an Audi, I see functions assigned to "press and hold" for the roll-up and roll-down actions for both steering wheel roller buttons.

How does one "hold" a roll-up or roll-down? Would I press on the button and roll it up or roll it down while pressed?

Mode:

No function can be assigned to Mode? I was hoping to use it as Source. :(

Thanks for any info,
Regards

For the rollers- you can push them in. If you push and hold them in, that would count as a press and hold.

The mode button only controls the cluster, not the radio, so it cannot be repurposed to do radio commands.

So, the action is to press it and then roll it up or down while keeping the pressure on, I see. I just tried that (before installing the Maestro) and it's not hard to do.. good.. cool.. thanks!

For anyone who stumbles across this thread and has a similar vehicle, a little clarification:

This solution is compatible with the Symphony 2+ system, but not the Symphony 2 (the plugs and the can messages are different). If you remove your radio and find that the VW1 does not fit into the OEM radio connector, that vehicle trim is not compatible with our solution.
