Alpine i209-WRA not working correctly

Post by tylerclark » Wed Apr 11, 2018 11:24 pm

I get an error when the radio boots up constantly saying "CAN communication error". Manual and online reveal nothing about what is going on. I flashed the Maestro. It does blink red when the vehicle is turned on. Not sure if that means anything?

Check your data cable (the all black, 4-pin cable that goes between the maestro and the radio). That's the most likely culprit. Make sure it's plugged into the black port on the maestro (NOT the red or blue), and that it's plugged in on the radio side, into the iDatalink I/F port.

The problem ended up being it was plugged into the wrong port. I had it in the blue one. Oops! Glad nothing blew up on me!
