2014 Silverado w/ AVH-4200NEX...Onstar Module??

Post by michaelchurch81081 » Tue Feb 20, 2018 1:31 am

Am I supposed to keep the onstar module plugged in, or do I bypass it all together?

There is no need to unplug it or bypass it. If you don't want to retain it, just uncheck it during your flash.

I don't think there is enough room to keep both the on star module and radio module in the din with the Pioneer. Have people just been relocating the on star module and the radio module if remained plugged in? Because I don't think my truck will even start unless plugged into Onstar module.

The truck won't start if you remove the wifi module.

I have seen people relocating it- moving it up and to the left, in the gap above the gauge cluster (or wherever else you could make it fit).

I'm not sure what you're asking. Ultimately, the modules that were just the brains of the radio can be removed. I recommend keeping the rest of the modules, and relocating them higher/lower in the dash if you need room.

Do you know where the blue/yellow wire off of the blue connector of the RR module connects to? It shows radio output 1, but not sure where to connect it.

The blue connector should not be used at all in your install type.
