We are sending the code out to arm the after market alarm from the OEM remotes, I can't say why it wasn't doing it?

We are surrently testing the AVOX units to find out every model perticularities. Maybe it has something to do with the r.s. not doing it?

Which starter did you used? 997 or 921?

Best regards!

Hi Stéphane,

1. I used the Prestige XR9000. It has a similar feature set to the APS997, but appears to be built around the new generation units like the APS787A or APS787N, and has advertised 1-mile range instead of the APS997's 1400 feet.

2. I tried to find an install guide online for you, but Audiovox's already-bad website has apparently been redesigned to be even worse. Neither mobile.audiovox.com nor techserivces.audiovox.com has any mention whatsoever of this product, not even in the "Previous models" section.

Embarrassingly, a dealer who sells these things on the Internet at dealer cost has done a better job describing the product than the manufacturer has:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Prestige ... 710wt_1165

3. I'm aware that Toyotas won't allow you to even lock the doors at all if any zone is left open. I was very careful to close the trunk, all doors, and even though US Corollas have no hoodswitch, I closed the hood too. I tested every scenario I possibly could, using both the OEM and aftermarket remotes.

Conclusion: The system can be disarmed from either the OEM or aftermarket remote. However, if I used the OEM remote to lock the doors, it flashes the hazards, locks the doors, turns off the domelight....but doesn't arm the aftermarket system.

4. On a related note, my father has a 2000 LeSabre, with a Pursuit PRO-9801XR, which is identical to the XR9000. In his car is an XK01 connected D2D. In his car, the OEM remote successfully arms the aftermarket system. So at least we can be pretty sure that the product has the capabaility to be armed.

5. In the event Nicky or anyone at else at Audiovox is reading this, I want to once again say that if Audiovox would ever consider taking on any temporary outside help, I'm sure I could be of great service at figuring out and resolving these small issues. I don't even live very from from Audiovox's headquarters. I don't want a lot of money; I just want to get myself a little deeper into this industry and meet more people. I could even take payment in product instead of money. The next time there's a product redesign, think of having me visit, even for just a couple of days.
