Hey guys I noticed yesterday installing a CA4050 with an FLCAN 64 (DOC#: 2265) that the car had intermident cranking issues. Using DBI mode the remote start after sucessfully starting two times in a row, on the third attempt car would no longer turn over. It would crank, and then shut down and try to recrank the vehicle; somtimes it would turn over on the second try but many times it would fail. Another issue that I noticed on occassion during testing, is that the factory alarm would not properly disarm, causing the alarm to go off during RS initation.

It turns out for whatever reason under DBI mode doesn't agree with the CA4050 for whatever reason. I tried W2W tach off the FLCAN and DBI tach, both had the same issue. I switched the install over to a full hardwire (W2W) mode/wiring and the car worked perfectly with the cranking and factory disarm.

I also noticed during the programming of the FLCAN 64 that you can select for "Brake status", however the Type 1 diagram does not show a Brake status output.

if you hardwired tach on DBI youd have to go to option 4 and set it to TACH (not dbi) then learn tach...

Yeah I changed the tach each time in menu 6, option 4. However, in the end result while the FLCAN was producing a valid tach signal both through W2W and DBI it wasn't holding its settings for very long. It all worked out in the end when I reflashed the FLCAN for "hardwire" mode and then W2W'd the setup.

This issue happens on all honda using the fl-can using install type 1,2,or 3 with the new code platform. The gwr signal through dbi is being sent too late(after the ignition turns on). The guys at code and ads know about the issue and are working on it now. For now the only good way around this is to hardwire.
