Maestro RR and Kenwood DNX6990HD receiver

Post by HoNiMa » Fri Aug 24, 2012 9:19 pm

Just picked up the receiver, and waiting patiently for my Maestro unit to arrive.
I'm wondering if the unit I picked up will work with the Maestro. Literature with the 6990 says manufactured in 2011, but the Idata site says 2012 models only with the models listed. Can one of you ADS guys give me a definitive way of verifying, with a serial # perhaps?

Thanks. I referenced the Kenwood site, where they have a pic of the rear of the apparent 2012 receiver. It looks identical to the rear of mine. Hopefully when I get the t-harness and the RR it will all come together.

The unit plugs into the SXM port on the kenwood. Is your unit sat ready, sirius ready or SXM ready?

Yeah it's satellite ready. I looked at the install guide for the RR and type 3 install is what I'm going for.

Third to the last feature listed when you scroll down on kenwood's site. ;)

You want the Maestro RR, the Ford specific harness, and the SXi cable to retain full functionality of the sync system thru the touch screen.

My mistake. Type 1 Is what I meant to say. Looking forward to having everything changed out and having bass again. Just ordered the dual 10" enclosure, and my Alpine 5 channel amp is itching to power up.

Well, the boys from Staub have sent me a nice little package containing everything I need to make this work. Nice job on the RR guys... Cables all reach where they need to. Just waiting for my dash kit and sub box to show up now. I imagine my Saturday is going to be spent tearing apart my truck. Can't wait for some bass!

Right now the only solution is Ford. We are adding firmwares as fast as possible. The 2012 F series super duty was added yesterday. You will see GM, Chrysler and VW being added.

After a few calls to ADS, got everything working. Put the truck back together, and an hour later everything went on the fritz. No OEM functions, steering controls are random, and no iPod thru SYNC USB.
