2012 tacoma / 7600NEX - wiring for OBD gauges only?

Post by scotty2shots »

Hey y'all. I'm in a 2012 Toyota Tacoma, non-JBL, with a Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX. I've got an ADS-MRR and a TO1 harness.

I've got a bunch of custom-wired switches with the headunit - a DIY camera switcher, a mute switch among other things - and I'd like to find a way to get the Maestro to work supplying OBD gauges and vehicle information only. Leave alone my steering wheel controls (which are already on an ASWC-1), leave alone cameras, audio, etc.

Is there a way to use the generic power/accessory/ground harness and the OBD connector without connecting to the rest of the factory wiring? Would something like this require a custom firmware? I've flashed the MRR using the weblink desktop app and deactivated everything but Vehicle Info and Gauges.

Thanks for any help!

Flash as a 2010 Toyota Landcruiser to get basic gauges firmware. Follow the guide for the Landcruiser and just omit the steering wheel wiring.
