2013 Edge MFT1 radio depth

Post by Chance »

Hey all,
I'm pretty pumped about finally being able to trash the stock radio in my Edge (2013, MFT 8", no Sony), but before I run out and buy a new radio, I want to know what fits. Does anyone have the maximum depth for this setup? I remember reading a while back on a different forum that a normal double DIN unit wouldn't fit, but that was before MFT1.
Thanks,
Chance

I don't have the exact measurements, but here's a picture of what the OEM radio looks like from the side. It is quite shallow.

Hmm, okay. Thanks for the info! It seems like the "Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX" might be what I'm after; I can't seem to find any others that have wireless Android Auto and also shallow mount. The installation pdf says it should be "178mm x 100mm x 87mm (7 in. x 3-7/8 in. x 3-3/8 in.)" for the chassis. By the look of the OEM radio, that seems like it should work.
As a side note, I'm surprised at how small the market seems to be for wireless Android Auto sets. Seems like there's a ton of wired variants, but c'mon, it's 2020, wires are for squares!
