2011 F150 / Maestro RR / Pioneer DMH-1500NEX

Post by kgwmu »

Hi,
Vehicle: 2011 F150 FX4, w/ sync, w/o factory nav, w/o Sony
Radio: Pioneer DMH-1500NEX

I have flashed the Maestro RR so I don't use SYNC any longer. I plan to retro fit my old sync aux and usb bezel to so I can tie them to the new radio. The usb is easy, but I don't know where to plug the new aux cable in since the Maestro uses the aux input on the Pioneer. How can I connect another aux to my Pioneer? I have tried connecting to the two RCA jacks labeled as AUX in the F01 harness, but I don't get any sound out of it.

Thanks,
Kevin

Since you're doing away with Sync, you can remove our audio cable completely and use the Pioneer's aux.

Dara, what you said worked perfectly. I do have one more question, what are the AUX IN rca cables used for in this case then?

If you follow the RCAs up to the truck's factory wiring, you will see there are no wires populated in your vehicle. These wires are only present when you have a base vehicle with no Sync. In some cases (like the base mustang and super duty), they give you a hardwired aux port. That is what this would keep, in those cases.
