LOW VOLUME

Post by mdurbak »

Hello
I am wondering if anyone has the answer for me I am installing a Kenwood DPX594Bt in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado no Bose system I installed a Maestro RR and the HRN-RR-gm5+ everything seem to go good until I turned the unit on and have super low volume have to turn radio up to full volume just to get it to make it loud enough to hear . Any help would be greatly appreciated

when installing the GM5 harness on the speaker wires, was there a heat shrink piece on the front speaker wires and one on the rear speakers? If so remove them (cut them out)...they are there for radios that don't have rca's but the vehicle has the BOSE system...it knocks down the speaker level signal so you don't overdrive the factory amp.
when you don't have an amp it just makes the volume really low.
