Installing Kenwood Excelon Dnx696s into 2008 Tundra w/o JBL

Post by TheseShadows »

I'm trying my first install.
I have a Kenwood Excelon Dnx696s, that I purchased off Crutchfield, along with the recommended To1, RR and an RCA adapter. All this going into a 2008 Tundra without JBL or backup camera. I actually have the backup camera, I just need to figure out how to bring the harness down from the mirror, but that's a different issue.

I have all the wires soldering in on the T harness, but I have 3 or 4 harnesses that I don't know where they go. I've already removed the 2 that weren't needed, as per instruction, along with the steering wheel control harness that I won't need.

I've seen another similar post, but the image won't show up for me. Any help?

You could take the yellow and brown wires that are in the camera wiring in the TO1 and splice them into the two wires that carry the video image to the rearview mirror. The other two wires would not be needed as the camera will still be getting power from the mirror itself. The yellow in the camera portion of our wiring is the video signal, the brown in that same section is the video shield.
