no back-up camera 2014 Subaru Outback w/Harman Kardon & no nav

Post by mwarner7 »

I've got a JVC KW-V950BW installed in my 2014 Outback (with the Harman Kardon, and without the NAV) and everything is working except for the backup camera. Yesterday, I had all of my wires together with simple splices and tape and I was getting the dreaded garbled colored image coming from the camera. Today, I got all of the wire connections from the JVC harness secured with tight butt splices and now I am getting a black screen for the back up camera.

This camera issue appears to be prolific on many brands of cars, and based on other forum entries I can also report that I do NOT have any other factory harness, such as the four-pin harness that the idatalink "A" cable would work with, available on the Subaru side.

I'll be calling idata tech support tomorrow, but am hoping a kind sole may have some other ideas for me to try, as I'm sort of tired of driving around town with an open dash and cables going everywhere.

on the 28 pin connector look at pins
11- blue/yellow
12- yellow
13- black
14- black
Cut pin 12 and 14 and switch the wires
