2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

Post by JeepGC2007Overland » Thu Nov 28, 2019 8:33 pm

Factory NAV Radio went out. Looking at replacing with a Kenwood DNX696S. I just have some clarifying questions before I purchase and attempt to do it myself. Besides the purchase of the Kenwood, I believe I need:
- iDatalink Maestro RR
- iDatalink HRN-RR-CH2 interface harness
- antenna adapter
- dash kit
1) Do I need any other iDatalink products to retain all my functionality?
2) Will my factory rear camera still work?
3) Will my factory GPS antenna work? If yes, do I need an adapter to make it work? Or do I have to use the radio provided GPS antenna?
4) Will my Uconnect still work with this radio? Will the factory bluetooth mic for Uconnect work? Or do I have to install the mic that comes with the radio?

Wanted to get these questions out before I spend the money and jump into this project myself. Thanks!

1) Do I need any other iDatalink products to retain all my functionality? No
2) Will my factory rear camera still work? You will have to get a vehicles schematic to locate the camera wires. then its simply soldering an RCA to the two wires and plug it into camera input
3) Will my factory GPS antenna work? If yes, do I need an adapter to make it work? Or do I have to use the radio provided GPS antenna? need to use the Kenwoods
4) Will my Uconnect still work with this radio? Will the factory bluetooth mic for Uconnect work? Or do I have to install the mic that comes with the radio? With CH2 uConnect is not retained, need the Kenwood mic

Wanted to get these questions out before I spend the money and jump into this project myself. Thanks!
