New firmware and average mpg. Mazda 3.

Post by Eeluk » Wed Oct 30, 2019 5:12 am

I am wondering if it's worth it to flash my maestro rr to version 2.2. Only issue I have is average mpg reading 38 when in fact it's closer to 33mpg. Will the update help?

These are the change notes for the update:
- Fix the issue with max inst MPG not working
- Increased Boost Max to 50 psi
- Increased the EGT temp to a 3500 celsius

I do not think these updates are going to make a difference in your situation.

Even coming from 1.9? I didn't even realize there was a 2.0, let alone 2.2...

Correct. There are no updates that pertain to average fuel economy.

Maybe you can help me fix that and decrease the calculated number by 15%?

The average MPG reading is an approximation that is done by an algorithm using several sensor readings taken from the vehicle. There is no percentage type adjustment settings for that value that can be done.

I mean in the algorithm itself.

I remember an old thread on here where you offered to write a custom code to do that very thing. They just needed to see the code displayed on the "about" in the maestro settings.
