2012 Fusion SWC button functions changed

We installed a Kenwood DNX691 into a 2012 Ford Fusion in May 2014, using a Maestro RR. It's worked fine until a week or two ago, when the steering wheel control volume buttons suddenly changed functions--the volume up button turned into seek up, volume down is now volume up. I pulled the module and updated to the newest firmware but the issue continues.

I'm guessing that the problem is in the factory buttons or clock spring, but I thought I'd check to see if you've seen this issue before.

look at the Maestro's led and take note of the number of flashes it does every time you push a steering wheel control button. each button should have a different number of flashes. If you see a button that has the same number of flashes as another function that tell us that the Maestro is seeing the same resistance and that could be caused by a bad clockspring, dirty steering wheel controls, or even worn out resistive pads at the controls.
