Mazda 3 braking, acceleration not working.

Post by Eeluk »

The selections of 0-60, acceleration, braking are not grayed out and can be selected, but no data is ever given.

Any ideas?

Try connecting the RR's green/white wire to the foot brake wire of the car. It needs to see multiple pulses on the foot brake, then it should display 'READY'.

Green/white wire from the Maestro to the wire on the foot pedal, (the switch that operates the brake lights?)

Yes.

However, this does change in newer versions of the firmware; what is the serial number of your maestro? I looked under your email and could not find any flash history under that username.

For what it's worth, the current version is now 2.3, so there have been quite a few updates. Among them, we did remove support for braking distance as it didn't really work well in this firmware.

I've been hesitant to update the firmware.
I probably lost the cable. It's merely a USB to USB mini?

On my 2012 mazda 3, there was a version 2.2 listed as the newest version. It absolutely would not communicate with my kenwood. After pulling out my hair, I tried version 2.0. It worked immediately and I see there are some new features to play with.

FYI: ADS-RR (SI)-MAZ01-DS (512) V2.2 is broken.

Right, but we have since updated. The live version is now 2.3, so 2.2 is no longer 'current'. If you have any other questions or anything that we can help with, just let us know.

The weblink app doesn't show me the 2.3 on my Mazda.

2012 Mazda 3. No navigation. Steering wheel with all the buttons. Kenwood DMX905S.

What advice can you offer?

Hold vs Normal

Post by Eeluk »

I cannot really see any difference. Does it just affect some certain gauges?

MODERATOR EDIT:
I HAVE MERGED YOUR TWO THREADS TOGETHER. PLEASE KEEP ONE THREAD PER CAR. THERE IS NO NEED TO MAKE MULTIPLE POSTS FOR THE SAME VEHICLE.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Can you clarify please? Are you talking about when you tap on the face of the gauge versus pressing on it?

No. With version 1.9 there were two sets of gauges. P1 and P2. They were selected by tapping either button: P1 or P2.

Now on version 2.0 and up, its a toggle between P1 and P2 on a single button. Beside that button is a button that says either NORMAL or HOLD, depending on which one is toggled. Although I don't see a difference.

This question isn't based on any certain car. It's a change in the the firmware. I'm sure lots of people would be interested in knowing the answer to this question.

Yes, but you already have a thread going, so let's just keep it all in one place. There is no need to create multiple threads when you just have one question.

Instead of having 2 buttons for P1 and P2, you will have a button that toggles between P1 and P2 and another button that toggles between NORMAL or HOLD, the last button is made for the track pack. NORMAL means as soon the gauge is ready it will show the ready state and HOLD will keep the last result(0 to 60 only) for 10 seconds before showing the ready state again. Track pack does not look at foot brake for the ready state in this version of the firmware; it just uses the speed. (You still need the foot brake signal to estimate the braking distance.)

Also, v2.3 is live if you want to give it a shot. Up to you.
