2015 Chevy Silverado with Bose?

Post by TE5LA » Mon Oct 14, 2019 5:24 pm

I had one of these today and had a Kenwood with data to install. I went through the flashing of the Rr and pulled up the install diagram only to notice that it said "Do not connect to factory systems with an amplifier".

I called tech support and was told they don't support the Bose system in this model. I mentioned that it would be nice if this information had been presented before reaching this point. He said it was in the selector on the website. We went back and checked and it is not listed in the features retained. In fact, there is no information about amplified or non-amplified systems at all in the product selection guide.

I suggest that something like "OEM Bose amplified systems not supported" be somewhere. This would have saved the customer (and us) a lot of time.

We don't list everything that we don't cover, only what we do cover. So unless we specifically say something is retained or supported, it is safe to assume it is not.
