No option for Kenwood DDX8706S

Post by sray75 » Sun Sep 01, 2019 11:23 pm

When flashing my Maestro RR, I don't get an option for a Kenwood DDX8706S. If I use the generic "Other Kenwood with Bluetooth" option, it doesn't let me retain all of the factory options like it did previously with other radios. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

If it makes any difference, it is a 2007.5 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT with steering wheel controls.

Are you re-using this RR? Look on the back and see if the label says RR-256. I'd be willing to bet that's what you have. The firmware for this radio is too big to fit on a 256 module, which is why it isn't listed when you try to flash. You will need to upgrade to a new RR module (RR-512) and then your radio model will show up during the flashing process.
