OBDII information

Post by Stroh » Wed Aug 14, 2019 7:39 pm

I'm looking at the Kenwood DMX906S HU. I'm likely ordering the Ready Harness prewired from Crutchfield to install my Maestro and CH1 harness so that it is plug and play. Does the data for gauges, TPMS, etc come from the can-bus or do you have to plug into the OBDII port under the dash?

Some information comes from MS CAN, behind the radio, while things like gauges and other vehicle info come form High Speed CAN at the OBD2 connector. Both are required for full functionality.
