RR Su1 not providing 6v camera power

Post by Dasbogie2 » Sat Jul 27, 2019 5:42 pm

Twice now I have run into the maestro rr not outputting the 6v on the blue/yellow wire to the oem camera on an 11 outback and a 14 crosstrek.

Everything is pinned on the oem side of things. Is there something in the menu somewhere I just need to turn on? Do I need to do a factory reset on the maestro if it doesn't output?

On both occasions the radio switches to the reverse camera screen but no video. Double checked camera power from maestro and 0v is found. Give that wire 6v and it powers up oem camera.

Both vehicles are automatics.

I believe the RR harness and firmware were changed to give camera power off of a stronger output. If you have an older version of the harness, camera power may be pinned in the wrong place. If you run into this again, make sure the blue/yellow wire is populated in pins 2 and 4 of the RR's black 18 pin plug (When you're looking at the wire side, it should be on the bottom row, left corner and the spot next to it).

Thank you for the response, I will be on the look out on the next one to ensure proper pin placement to prevent ____ poor performance.
