2016 CR-V use factory mic for Bluetooth?

Post by wkderf » Wed Jun 05, 2019 12:32 am

I’ve installed a KENWOOD DDX9705s in my 2016 CR-v (factory 7” screen & Bluetooth, no amp), and everything is working as it should as far as iMID display, reverse & lane watch cameras, steering wheel controls, and vehicle info / gauges.

I did however discover that my car required the use of the “B” adapter, and not the “A” adapter that was shown in the instructions. Not sure if this is a clerical error, or if I was referencing the wrong instructions, but I was referencing the 2012-2016 CRV without amp retaining OEM Bluetooth - which fits the description of my car & what I was trying to install.

Can someone explain where the “AUX” cable coming from the H02 harness should plug into the stereo? AV in?

Lastly, is there a way to use the factory microphone for the kenwood receiver using one of the cables included with the RR / HO2? there is a wire that has a blue connector on one side, and a micro phono plug on the other. Could this be the cable?

if the radio has an Aux input that is where the aux cable should go, if not it will go into the AVIN on the radio. If you chose to retain the OEM BT you don't have to do anything special to retain the MIC. However, keep in mind that you will not be able to use the OEM Mic with CarPlay or AndroidAuto and the aftermarket MIC needs to be used for that.

ahh, ok. that may have been my issues. Was attempting to make calls from Apple Carplay, so I guess ill have to install the mic that came with the Kenwood. Thanks for the info!

I wanted to try to use my OEM mic, but in researching, I discovered that a lot of the CR-V mics don't work very well (mine never has). I mounted my JVC unit's mic to my windshield just above the rearview mirror. Now my wife can't tell when I'm on hands-free.
