Solution for '15 F150 with 8" screen?

Post by Kevreh »

Looks like the kits say only for a 4.3" screen. Are there any options for cars that came with the 8", Sync 2, screen?

Not yet. We are coming out with the MFT1 dash kit and a firmware to go with it. It's still in testing, so it will likely release within the next few months.

I also have an 8" screen with sony system and going to install a Pioneer AVIC W8500NEX head unit, I have the scosche ITCFD02B kit with the touchscreen HVAC controls on it however Im not completely satisfied that the head unit would not be mounted, in my opinion, at the optimal height and like the fact that the K150 has the hdmi, usb and 3.5mm connections on it as well as the extra storage space.

Can you tell me what is different from the MFT1 kit vs the K510 kit? Ive also seen someone post that the k150 unit does work in this application is that possible?

The K150 does NOT work with the MyFord Touch vehicles. The MFT1 will be the correct kit when it is released in a few weeks. It uses the OEM bezel and climate controls, and is essentially just a bezel that fills the residual space of the OEM 8" radio. It also replaces the OEM media port, so you'll have a quick connection to USB, HDMI, and aux ports on the console that connect to the new radio.

Great. Only information I need is how much longer do we have to wait and will the KIT-MFT1 include the harnessing and a dash kit or is the dash kit still in the works?

The MFT1 will come with the wiring harness. The kit is designed to use the factory bezel and all, you will be just replacing the screen. Should be out real soon.

Does this retain the steering wheel heater function as part of the climate controls?
