Serial Number Issues

Post by markH2019 » Mon May 20, 2019 4:38 pm

Hi everyone,
I'm quite new to the maestro unit, so please bare with me! i'm based in the uk, and about to install an alpine halo9 into a Jeep Wrangler 2017 using RR and CH1. Im struggling to find the correct serial number for my unit. Im wondering as the halo 9 on the maestro list, is the US version ILX f309D and not the uk ILX F903D? would this make a massive difference as essentially the same unit? the message I keep getting is invalid serial number? any help wold be greatly appreciated!

It is not the same. The European version of the radio does not have the iDatalink port on it or the iDatalink software in it. In this case, you would need to flash as Alpine 'Other with bluetooth' to get firmware on the maestro.

Ah ok, so if I flash it with that firmware, will it still retain/control things like ewic and keep steering controls? Or do I need to use a different module altogether as I’m in Europe? Thanks

With that firmware, it will retain steering wheel controls and the OEM amplifier, if equipped. There may be a European interface module out there that does more with this radio, but I am unsure of that.
