17 Outback with 7"/HK

Post by staggeredsix » Sun May 12, 2019 8:52 pm

Hello folks!

A friend just gifted me an RR and a kenwood head unit, which is in the garage so I dont have the model number. I've followed the wiring diagram and all the wiring is attached to the harness as required.

I've located the pink lead in the 8 pin connector for the starlink module and jammed the brown lead from the SU2 in there to make contact/test the installation. I've always flashed the firmware for the RR as required.

My issue is that I have no sound. It seems like it wants to kick on, there's a bit of a short garbled sound every once in a while. Everything seems to work as far as I can tell but the sound. Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing something?

This unit and wiring harness was in a 2018 WRX STi for a few days. It was installed by best buy but removed shortly after.

Are the solid blue and blue/white wires on the SU2 hooked up to the radio harness?

I'll take a look when I get back to the house. It's currently in a box in the garage! I assume they should be. Thank you for the reply!

Both blue and white and solid blue are attached to the same lead coming from the stereo harness, Power control.

Alright so... I was finalizing the harness with proper soldering, tapping into the starlink cable with a t-tap, wrapping the harness with fuzzy loom and getting the installation done. Come to find that somehow one of my dogs got ahold of the datalink cable. The little 4 pin one. Is there some way to get a replacement?
