RX-8 Gauges Not Appearing

Post by davew128 » Thu May 09, 2019 4:47 pm

Hi, I successfully flashed the RR module and installed it in my 2004 Mazda RX-8. The HU is a Kenwood 9905S. Both wires are properly connected to the OBDII port and steering wheel controls work. However the only time the gauge app even lights up is after being flashed and says "No Ignition". Is there a known bug or should the ODBII wires be checked to see if power is being received?

Please check your wiring and ensure you have accessory power hooked to the maestro's gray/red wire.

Had a tech look at it and even tried flashing a separate module to test. All wires were verified as properly connected. The verdict seems to be the age of the car (2004) not providing output for this.

That is a definite possibility, as diagnostic signals on HS can did not become standard until 2008. Some cars in years before this have wires populated at the OBD2, but no signal is actually being sent on the wires.
