weblink plugin installer wont work

Post by daemonjeep »

Just got a new windows 10 machine. Using the old Internet Explorer, I try to download and install the necessary plugin installer and run it. Once it starts, it tells me I need .net framework 2.0. The machine is already configured with the latest release from Microsoft. The plugin installer wont continue past that screen. Need to get this figured out, is there not an update to the plugin installer? Last date was 2013 I noticed on the Weblink Updater site. I usually don't have any problems installing this on any other slightly older machines...…. Help

You computer was missing an update from Microsoft. The link I posted will fix the issue for anyone else having this problem.

I am having great difficulty trying to flash the module. I've downloaded and installed the recommended file and tried MS Edge, Chrome and my default browser, which is Firefox. The same error message regarding the browser every time. IE required, Active X enabled and Javascript enabled. I'm running WIN 10 Pro 64 bit.

Appreciate ANY help at all.
Thanks

You have to use Internet Explorer (the Light Blue E with the gold Halo around it). in Windows 10 computers they hide it. If you have a search bar next to the Windows icon in the bottom left of the screen you can type in "Internet Explorer" in and it will pop up saying "Internet Explorer Desktop App". Click that and go to our website.

In my case, under windows 10, I had to go to Windows Features (do a search in your task bar, its part control panel I believe), and turn on the .net Framework tick for version 3.5 which includes 2.0 and 3.0.
