2019 Tacoma w/ JBL no audio info in dash

Post by jlleiber » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:11 am

I installed an Alpine ILX-107 this weekend into a 2019 Tacoma with JBL. Everything seems to be working fine but when playing music through CarPlay (Spotify and Podcast apps) I do not get the Audio Info on the display in the dash. Any ideas to troubleshoot?

Just to make sure I'm understanding; if you're using another source, like the FM radio, you get audio information in the cluster, but when you switch to carplay, there is no information?

Actually, I have not seen any audio information in the cluster regardless of what the source is. However, there are features of the ILX-107 that I don't care for so I will be swapping it out with an AVIC-W8400NEX. I have a couple questions for the new headunit:

1. What's the best way to re-flash the Maestro Module for the 8400?

2. On the T02 T-Harness there are gray and white LF/RF RCA inputs. Do these plug into the pre-amp outputs of the headunit or do I splice those into the gray, gray/black, white and white/black wires of the Pioneer main harness?

1. Hit 'flash your module', and hit 'edit' on step 3 where you pick the radio. Input the new radio information, and proceed with your flash.

2. In the JBL trim, you plug them into the FL and FR RCA outputs of the radio. Do not cut and splice them into speaker wires unless you want distorted, screaming loud audio.

Thank you for the feedback.

In hindsight, I might keep the ilx-107. I just checked the cluster and is does in fact show audio info when the radio is playing but does not show info for any of the carplay sources.
