2010 Edge w/nav sub-woofer not working

Post by sgibbers17 » Sun Apr 14, 2019 7:20 pm

I just installed a Kenwood DDX9705S into my wife's 2010 Ford Edge and I am getting no sound out of the sub-woofer. I tried going through the Kenwood OEM settings but there was no options for the factory amp like there was for my 2010 Ford Fusion with the same Kenwood DDX9705S.

A couple things to check:
1) Make sure the 8 way connector from the FO1 harness is connected to your vehicle and the Sub rca is plugged into the Kenwood's Sub output rca.
2) Make sure the Blue/White wire from the FO1 harness is connected to the Kenwood's Blue/White wire (amp turn on wire). You can also check on that 8 way connector with a multimeter the Blue/Yellow wire has 12 volts when you turn on the radio (that's the wire that goes to the amp to turn it on)
3) In the Kenwood Audio menu, make sure that the Subwoofer is selected and turned on.

Thanks I'll check those when I get my GPS antenna adapter in a couple of days so I don't have to keep taking it apart. Is there anything else that I could check if those don't work.

Ok I got it working. The RCA plugs were labeled center/sub and sub but I thought one was labeled center and one labeled sub so when I was hooking it up I grabbed the center/sub plug and saw sub I assumed that the other was the center plug and plugged in the center/sub RCA. Apparently both RCA plugs need to be plugged in or just the one that is just labeled sub and not the center/sub for the sub-woofer to work not just the center/sub.
