This radio is absolutely capable. I have a DNX893 and it can do it; You just have to change settings to turn it on.

Kenwood will not mention our settings menus in their owner's manual, so don't take their word for gospel on this. The other radios you mentioned are the same platform as far as our firmware goes, so you would turn the settings on just the same.

Setup > AV > OEM Setup > Maestro settings > Camera settings - In here, you must assign the camera to 'side cam', and turn the lane watch camera 'ON with turn signal'.

I recently installed MRR and Pioneer AVH-2550NEX on 2015 CR-V EX 7” unit without navigation, everything is working including backup camera, but the view is normal mode only and cannot change to other modes (wide-angle and straight-down). I don’t see anything on MRR flashing program for camera mode change, nor the head unit OEM setting has “camera setting”, I wonder if this is the limitation of MRR or the Pioneer head unit? (kinda leaning toward head unit because it does not support advance camera feature and no lane watch camera support, but I don’t want to buy a more expensive head unit like Kenwood ddx9906xr unless it is supports wide angle mode).

When you're in reverse, try hitting the source button on the steering wheel. It may cycle you through the various camera modes.
