HR-V Back up Camera and Side Camera Intergration

Post by whodat808 » Mon Mar 25, 2019 2:28 pm

Hello, Not sure if I am in the correct section but I figure I will post this in the Honda section.

Vehicle: 2017 Honda HR-V EX

I purchased an Alpine Halo9 iLX-F309 head unit from crutchfield. Before placing the order I spoke with them stating I wanted to make sure that I could still integrate my two factory cameras with the head unit. They informed me they have a package deal that will allow me to still utilize the 2 cameras.

I would need the idatalink Maestro ADS-MRR & idatalink HRN-RR-H02

When installing this with the headunit. I was able to hook up the rear view camera but not the side camera. There seems to be only 1 input on the module, I could use your help. (I have put everything back together since I needed my car for daily use, I am trying to recall everything from memory)

Thank you!

This is a limitation of the radio. The automatic activation of the secondary camera (for lanewatch) can only be done with Kenwood and JVC radios that support advanced camera features. These radios have a dedicated front camera input, which is where the lanewatch camera would plug in.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick reply and explanation. I have one more question:

Lets say I get the kenwood head unit that supports the 2 factory cameras. Will I be able to get the lane watch side camera to work with the right turn signal. This is the function of the factory unit, which has the option to leave the side camera on/off or right turn signal engaged.

Getting the side camera to work is one thing but the functionality of the camera is also important

Thank you again for your assistance!

The feature can be set to turn on with the turn signal if desired, as well as go off immediately, or remain on for 2 or 4 seconds after it turns off

Hello,

I am back with another question. After installing the Kenwood head unit I downloaded and installed the latest software for the maestro RR. I am able to get the camera to work on the head unit pushing the cam button on the deck but I am not turn on the camera using the blinker or button on the side of the blinker. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

You must turn it on in the OEM Setup. Go to: Setup > AV > OEM Setup > Maestro Module > Camera Settings

You need to set the camera assignment to side view camera, and then change the lane watch camera setting to 'on with turn signal', if that is how you want it to be triggered.

Hi thank you again for your quick response.

I just want to clarify the changing of the settings will be from the Kenwood headunit? or from the maestro rr via my laptop?

Is there a list of Kenwood/JVC models that support this feature?

Any of the Kenwood/JVCs that have a front camera input within the last 3 model years (ex: DNX893S is a few years old, but it has these features).
