2011 RAM1500 To Uconnect or Not?

Post by BustaG » Wed Jan 09, 2019 11:28 pm

I'm putting in a Kenwood DMX905S, Maestro Rr, CH1 & AVCH1 harnesses. I noticed in the F/W flashing instructions that I could choose to use Uconnect or go with the 905S for phone pairing etc. I've never been a big fan of the 2011 version of Uconnect in the truck so I chose to use the Kenwood BT solution. Is there anything I'm overlooking, like lost features, by not going with Uconnect?

if anything I think you gain...by having a better BT experience. The only thing that I know bugs people when they don't use the Uconnect is the fact you have to install the mic that comes with the radio and not use the factory installed mic. To some people that is a make or break feature.
The radio you have is really nice and I would want to use it to its fullest capability.
