Fiat 500e (electric) with Alpine Halo 9 iLX-F903D

Post by troth » Wed Jan 09, 2019 7:57 am

Hi,

I am from Europe and bought your stuff from the US. I checked the compatibility list and figured out, that the Alpine Halo 9 is also available in Europe. Hence, I thought this should work with no problems. I bought the radio and figured out, that the description is slightly different. The US version is called "Alpine iLX-F309" and the European version "Alpine iLX-F903D". Now the question is, if this will work with your Maestro card or not. I tried to flash the device, but the interface didn't accept the serial number I typed in. I picked then the Alpine - Other with Bluetooth, as this required no serial number. Will this do the job and my steering wheel buttons will work as expected? Should I use a different firmware? Any suggestions highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Thorsten

PS: I also bought the SAT1 & FI1.

Because we are a North American company and only have a partnership with Alpine USA, not Alpine Europe. That radio is not a North American model, so it is not iDatalink compatible.

If you use the RR, the only things we could do with this radio are steering wheel control retention and OEM amplifier retention by choosing "Other with bluetooth", like you mentioned above.

Hi Dara,

thanks for the update. The radio and equipment is installed, but no success with the steering wheel control retention. When I press a button, the LED is flashing on the RR. Anything what I did wrong?

Thanks

Make sure that you are using the maestro's blue 4-pin plug. The plug needs to be connected to the "SW" input on the alpine and the blue wire is not connected.
