Sienna 2010 +JBL + Maestro RR + TOY01+DDX6704s issues

Post by eltopomarinero » Mon Jan 07, 2019 11:22 am

Hello all,

A few issues replacing the E7007 OEM unit with a new Kenwood DDX6704 using Maestro RR and T01 Harness.

So far I have retained amp, steering wheel controls, gauges are showing properly (Still have to configure these), therefor ODBCII connector is sending proper data.

There is one connector with purple green and blue cables and the RCA cables in the main harness I cannot find a destination. I assume is not used in the Sienna application for this DDX6704S

Verifying the Maestro setup in the DDX6704S I have the following

Key Position is N/A
Parking brake is N/A ( I think I can connect directly to the parking brake cable in connector grey to solve this one)
Illumination is N/A (I have verified the orange cables are properly connected from the DDX6704S to the TO1 harness
Auxiliary input is N/A

Firmware version 03.00

Thanks in advance

M.

Because the car had JBL,you will not have anywhere for that plug to connect. This is normal.

I would try a reset on the RR (under the OEM Setup > Maestro Module > Master Reset) to see if it starts reading these statuses in the diagnostic menu.

thanks for the input Dara. Unfortunately no change after resetting the unit. Connecting directly to the foot break did not change the diagnostic entry but the HU now understands the break is on and video is displayed in the HU. Although the solution is pretty robust I am not very pleased with the installation process. I know this is not a plug and play solution but the amount of time and research on this is beyond desirable.

You don't need foot break at all in this application, just the parking brake. However, that is not how the diagnostic menu detection works. It will only show on the radio screen if we sense those signals on the data lines.

-Does your radio turn on and off with the key like it should?
-Does the radio dim when you turn on the headlights?
-Does the radio switch to the backup camera when you put it in reverse (if applicable) ?

If so, then I wouldn't worry about what the diagnostic menus say; sometimes the signals are present elsewhere in the vehicle, in lieu of on the data lines.

Yes Dara. You are right and I have realized my issues are more on the HU connection towards the Toyota connectors. Now let me do one other question. There is a oem black connector thati is supposed to bring the audit from the Rear Entertainment System that goes into the TO1 harness but I cannot make the HU to play any sound coming from DVD or Video being played in the RES unit. Any suggestion

We do not support rear seat entertainment in this solution. This is because we were unable to find vehicles equipped with it when we developed our firmware, so it isn't in the RR firmware.
